Polly Hudson Cooper

Mrs. Polly Anna Hudson Cooper, age 97, of Elkin, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at PruittHealth- Elkin.

Mrs. Cooper was born on September 16, 1928, in Surry County, to Ernest B. and Ola Chipman Hudson.

Mrs. Cooper was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pilot Mountain. She was raised at the Methodist Children’s Home in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Cooper was an outstanding swimmer and taught many to swim. She was a lover of nature and an expert on nutritional supplements.

Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her parents and many loving brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: her husband, Charles H. Cooper of the home; son, Dan Cooper of Elkin; daughters, Donna Chilton and husband Gary of Pilot Mountain, and Mary Paradis of Kernersville; grandchildren, Chris Chilton, Paul Chilton, Matthew Paradis and wife Lisa, Jessica Paradis, Megan Millard and husband Robert, Robbie Cooper, and Grace Harrison; great-grandchildren, Aaron Marshall, Celeste Paradis, Nick Millard, Colton Chilton, Austin Millard, and Ethan Millard; and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Grassy Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service from 12:30-1:30 at Elkin Funeral Service.
