Ralph Allen Childress

Mr. Ralph Allen Childress, age 70 of Ronda, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center.  Mr. Childress was born May 7, 1953 in Wilkes County to Charles Childress and Marie Watson Childress.

Mr. Childress retired from G&P Trucking and was a veteran of the US Army. He was an avid woodworker and hunter but, most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Childress was preceded in death by brothers, J.T. Childress and Junior Childress.

Survivors include: his wife, Debbie B. Childress of the home; son, Andy Childress; daughter, Jessie Parker and her husband Zach; brother, Brady Childress and his wife Margie; sisters, Annie Childress, Jane Benfield, Katherine Holloway and Charley Childress; sister-in-law, Annie Childress; grandchildren, Dani Parker and Reese Parker; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carol and Walter Barker; brother-in-law Bobby Barker and his wife Carol; sister-in-law, Janice Somers and her husband Barry; sister-in-law, Sandy Thompson and her husband Mark and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will conducted Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Swan Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with Rev. Scott Bishop officiating.
