Ramona Settle Jordan

Ramona Settle Jordan age 97, passed away at Chatham Nursing and Rehab peacefully on April 8 with family at her side. She was born January 14,1929 to Cletus Bliss Settle and Fansie Tucker Settle. A devoted Christian being a member of Benham Baptist Church for over 80 years, a church family she loved dearly. A loving wife of 70 years until the death of her husband, Clifford Jordan. She raised two sons and poured boundless love into her family which included — four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren — who will carry her warmth and faith forward. A gifted cook who delighted in discovering new recipes, she shared warmth and hospitality through every meal. She enjoyed each growing season raising a garden and her love of flowers especially snap-dragons.

Ramona was preceded to glory by her parents, husband, sister Reba Ross, brothers Ted, Donald, and Jerry Settle.

She is survived by sons Wayne (Theressa) Jordan of Elkin, Keith (Brenda) Jordan of Huntersville. Sister Jean Settle and brother David Settle. Grandchildren Stacie (Eric) Eller, Dane (Annette) Jordan, Melissa (Mark) Smithey and Erin (James) Poole.

Her funeral service will be held at Benham Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 14 at 2:00PM, Officiated by Joe Southern and Julius Blevins. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Gideon’s International. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, visits and support during her extended ailment. A special thanks to a special niece Lynn Alexander.
