Randy Dalton Sparks, age 64, of State Road, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, surrounded by his family.

Born on April 26, 1962, in Surry County, Randy was the son of the late John Quincy and Helen Lawrence Sparks.

Randy had many interests and enjoyed life fully. He was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy hiking the trails and swimming in his favorite hidden spots at Stone Mountain State Park. His love for nature began early in life through scouting and time spent at Camp Raven Knob, experiences that shaped his lifelong appreciation for the outdoors. He later developed a passion for riding motorcycles and horses, always seeking adventure and the freedom of the open road and trail.

He loved listening to classic rock and classic country music, watching college basketball—especially Duke—and spending Sundays following NASCAR races while also keeping up with current world events. Randy never met a stranger and enjoyed being around people. His outgoing personality and ability to connect with others helped him excel throughout his career in sales.

Randy will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of Stone Mountain State Park, a place that brought Randy much peace and happiness throughout his life.
