Rebecca Lou Triplett VanHoy, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, in Surry County at the age of 93. Born on July 29, 1932, in Yadkin County, she lived a life full of love, dedication, and grace.
Rebecca devoted her life to her family as a homemaker, creating a warm and nurturing environment for her loved ones. Her passion for flowers and gardening was evident in the beautiful gardens she tended. A faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, Rebecca found strength and community in her faith. She will be remembered for her kindness, and generosity.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee, Sr. and Blanche Chipman Triplett; her son, Ricky VanHoy; grand daughter, Joey's little angel Hunny Pot; brothers, Robert Lee Triplett, Jr., and Benny L. Triplett; and her son-in-law, Wayne Shore.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ray VanHoy; her sons, Douglas (Brenda) VanHoy and Joseph Scott VanHoy; her daughters, Vicki Shore, Cindy (Robert) Elliott, Lou Ann (Jon) Poe, and Beth (Art) Haynes. She also leaves behind 13 cherished grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom were blessed by her love and wisdom.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, December 21st, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22nd, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church, with Rev. Mark Elmore and Rev. Steve Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
