Richard Neal Lineberry, 73, of Elkin, died on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. He was born in Pulaski, Virginia, on January 21, 1952, to Garnett and Dora Jennings Lineberry.
Richard proudly served for 20 years in both the United States Air Force and the National Guard. Following his military service, he dedicated three decades of his career to Carl Rose and Sons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Bryan Lineberry and Jeff Butcher; his sisters, Irene Jennings and Wilma Funk; and his brother, Jim Lineberry.
Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Lineberry; his grandchildren, Braden Lineberry and Sophia Lineberry; his stepsisters, Gaynell Dillon (and husband Bill), Betty Jean Williams (and husband Bill); as well as several nieces, cousins, and his cherished friend, Jerry Yarboro.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Ireland and Rev. Jason Penley officiating. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with full Military Rites by Yadkin VFW Post 10346.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
