Robert Lloyd Owen

Mr. Robert Lloyd Owen, age 78, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 at his residence in Elkin.  Mr. Owen was born August 9, 1944 in St. Augustine, Florida.

Mr. Owen was a graduate of Florida State University at age 18.  After graduation he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and was a fighter pilot in the Vietnam War.  He retired as an airline engineer with a commercial airline.

Mr. Owen was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia Jean Byrd Owen.

Mr. Owen is survived by his daughter Jennifer Owen; special friends, Ted and JoAnn Bauguess, Michael Combs and Joel Stowe.

A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, February 23, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
