Rosemary Lineberry Smoot

Rosemary Lineberry Smoot, 67, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born January 11, 1958, in Wilkes County to James Lineberry and Jessie Holcomb Lineberry.

Known affectionately as Rose, she was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her brothers Jimmy Lineberry, Tony Lineberry, Paul Lineberry, and Gary Lineberry; her daughter Brenda Stanley; and her great-grandchild Amelia Martinez-Lytton.

She is survived by her loving husband, Teddy Smoot; sons, Jerry Lee Powell Jr. and wife Linda of Burlington of Iowa, and James Michael Powell of Jonesville; daughter, Jessica Michelle Reavis and husband Scott of Jonesville; and sister Wanda Pruitt of Traphill. Grandchildren: Sarah Powell and spouse Cassie Powell, Alison Powell, Katlyn Poindexter, Lindsay Poindexter, Christopher Reavis James Stanley, Issac Stanley, Nevaeh Stanley, Xander Stanley, James Noah Powell, Lilly Powell, Violet Powell, Rosalie Powell, and Jax Powell. Great Grandchildren, Denae Eagle, TaiLynn Burns, Davina Stanley, and Aria Stanley.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Elkin Funeral Service Chapel, with interment to follow at Welcome Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Flowers will be accepted.
