Roy Douglas Jarrard

Roy Douglas Jarrard, age 72 of State Road, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at his home. He was born on November 20, 1953, to George Eilliot and Marie Klebs Jarrard.

Mr. Jarrard was a member of Compass Worship Church. He was a dedicated leader in Boy Scout Troop 651 and was Wood Badge Trained and served as the Junior Leadership Training Scoutmaster for the Old Hickory Council. He also was a member of the North Carolina Forestry Association. In his free time, he enjoyed playing the guitar, history, woodworking, and helping others.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Matthew Jarrard, and sister, Susan Jarrard.

Survivors include: his wife, Joyce Walker Jarrard, of the home; son, Sean Patrick Jarrard, of Cedar Rapids, IA; brother, George F. Jarrard, of Maryland; sister, Patrica Jarrard, of Giffith, IN; nephew; Steven Bruns, of Kentucky; and Cousin, Virginia Heilman, of Cary.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank, John and Emily Attaway, Compass Worship Congregation, and the Elkin Valley Baptist Church Women’s Group for their support during this difficult time.
