Ruby Tucker Holcomb

Mrs. Ruby Mozelle Tucker Holcomb, age 87, of Thurmond, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at her home.

Mrs. Holcomb was born on December 5, 1938 in Wilkes County to Rufus Wayne and Ruth Flynn Tucker. She was a member of Charity United Methodist Church where she served as the treasurer for over 40 years. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, reading, and square dancing, something she did for over 25 years. Professionally she was the secretary at Traphill Elementary School for 36 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Archie Tucker, and a sister Gailya Bryant.

Survivors include: her husband, Tommy P. Holcomb, of the home; sons, James Neal Holcomb and wife Lisa, of Thurmond and Timothy Wayne Holcomb and wife Lisa, of Elkin; a brother, Johnny Tucker of Elkin; sisters, Patsy Wilson, of Wake Forest, Cathy Settle and husband David, of Elkin, and Jennie Melton of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Hailey Holcomb and partner Shane Bowlin, Drew Holcomb and wife Andrea, Colt Holcomb and wife Amber, and Colby Holcomb and wife Julie, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Charity United Methodist Church with Rev. Stacie Eller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Elkin Funeral Service.
