Sally Jo Wyatt

Mrs. Sally Jo Corder Wyatt, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Chatham Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Wyatt was born on October 12, 1935, in Surry County to Kermit Henry and Roxie Berniece McCoin Corder.

Mrs. Wyatt attended Elkin Valley Baptist Church. Professionally, she owned Sally Jo’s Kitchen, worked in the Elkin Elementary School Cafeteria, where she loved the children, and was a receptionist at Parkwood Place, where she enjoyed the people. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking for her family.

Mrs. Wyatt was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James Aaron “A” Wyatt.

Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Brin Wyatt and wife Jane, of Elkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly Jones and husband David, of Lowgap, and Ginger Smith and husband Keith, of Lowgap; grandchildren, Ashley Snider and husband Justin, Whitney Jones, Lindsey Chenevey and husband Scott, Caleb Wyatt and wife Angela, and Wyatt Smith; great-grandchildren, Josie Dillard and husband Zach, Corban Chenevey and fiancé Gracie, Maylin Chenevey, Jackson Wyatt, Addison Wyatt, and Graham Wyatt.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Elkin Valley Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 pm at the church. A private burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
