Thomas Franklin Hurt

Thomas Franklin Hurt 92 of Elkin died Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Woltz Hospice Home. Born May 30th, 1933 he was the son of the late John William Hurt and Viola Byrd Hurt. He was a lifelong farmer/gardner and worked for 22 years at Chatham Manufacturing.

HIs wife of 55 years, Lutricia Hurt, of the home; a brother, Bill Hurt and wife Mary of Mooresville; a sister Myrtle Poplin and husband Bob of Ronda; several nieces and nephews and special niece, Debbie Wagoner and husband Gary of Elkin and a special friend, Kathy Landry of Elkin survive him.

His parents, John William Hurt and Viola Byrd Hurt preceded him in death.

A Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Friday February 27, 2026 at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Mike Smith officiating.
