Mr. Walter Benjamin Johnson, age 70 of Elkin, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, at his residence.
Walter was born July 22, 1953, in Wilkes County to John Robert and Mary Jane “Janie” Caudill Johnson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Walsh, and five brothers, Roy, Zeb, Claude, Will, and Lester.
Walter is survived by his daughter, Angela Englert, and her husband Mark; brothers John Hobert Johnson of Hays, Sam C. Johnson and wife Brenda of Ronda, Larry Johnson of Jonesville; granddaughter, Seren Englert, and several loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Walter Hutchinson officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Little Stone Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
