Wanda Faye Luther, age 69, of State Road passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.
Wanda was born July 10, 1955, in Surry County to Kape and Kathleen Luffman Haynes. She was of the Baptist faith. Wanda loved making jewelry and enjoyed reading. She was an animal lover and loved her dogs, Polo, Chloe and Bella. She loved to cook and take care of her family.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Ray Haynes.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Luther of the home, daughters; Angela Whitt of State Road, Heather Millan of Tennessee, Kayla Wagoner and husband Tony of Millers Creek, brother, Bobby Joe Haynes and wife Ruby of Elkin, sister, Joann Cooke and husband Joseph of State Road, sister-in-law, Donna Haynes, grandchildren; Cory Whitt, Dakota Whitt, Matthew Millan, Max Millan, Hunter Evans, great-grandchildren; Riley Whitt, Sophia Whitt, Harper Whitt, Miracle Millan, Melody Millan and 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 23, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Shoaly Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Blankley officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
