William Larry Tilley

Mr. William Larry Tilley, age 81, of Elkin passed away on April 12, 2026, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

Mr. Tilley was born on June 19, 1944, in Surry County to Grover L. and Hallie S. Tilley. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1961-1963. Professionally he worked for Pepsi and retired after 30 years of service. He also owned a custom cabinet shop for 20 years. In his free time, he loved to pull pranks, ride horses, play with his grandkids and great grandkids in the pool, shooting pool, hunting, NASCAR, and most of all being with mom.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 54 years Olivia “Libby” S. Tilley, and brothers, Junior Tilley and Buddy Tilley.

Survivors include: daughter, Robin Holbrook and husband Kenny of State Road, son, Kye Shore and wife Tracy of Boonville; brothers, David Tilley and Rickey Tilley and wife Debby; sisters, Bonnie Jones and Nancy Moody; grandchildren, Lauren Dudley and husband Evan, Courtney Holbrook, Chrissy Shore, William Shore, Lynn Brady, and Taylor Norris; great grandchildren, Eleanor Dudley, Lincoln Dudley, and Isaiah Dudley; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Elkin Funeral Service Chapel, with Rev. Jeremy Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens.
